How To Shrink Your Levi's Shrink To Fit Jeans

I am pretty fond of shrink to fit Levis jeans. Unlike most high-end denim, they’re an exceptional value. As opposed to nearly all pre-washed, pre-faded jeans denim, Levi’s 501 shrink-to-fit jeans can last you for years with the proper care. Also, these pants are a fashion staple and have been uniquely always in fashion, for seemingly forever. These are a little different than ordinary denim for the most part.

When you first get them, you don’t just wear n' wash them. The texture feels a little different, new and stiff. Ordinary jeans manufacturers try to make new jeans feel really old when you purchase them. Here are the basic steps to ageFor the initial shrinking of these types of jeans naturally, they'll be quite one of a kind and will wear out in such a manner that is natural to the way you wear them over time.

1. Fill up your kitchen sink, bathtub, or washing machine with very hot water. If you use a washing-machine, make sure to up the washer, but put set it to "soak", you don’t want the machine to agitate your new Levi's. (My dad told me that when he was a kid, and bought a pair of Levi’s shrink to fit jeans, he would put them on, and go walking around in the ocean for a bit. So you could just do that if you want!)
2. Put your pants in the water and let them sit in the water for for 20 minutes. Drain the bathtub or washer. Next hang your pants drip dry until they are still wet, but no longer drip.
3. Now Put the wet Levis jeans on. It's best to do this on a warm day. Wear them around for awhile. Hopefully you can stand to wear the pants for about an hour or so, but you'll likely get cold unless it's warm out, so just wear them for a bit. While you wear them, they'll form to your body more quickly when you do this.
4. Hang your jeans to dry the rest of the way. It'll most likely take all night.
5. Okay, now they're dry so put the jeans on and judge how they properly fit. If you think they ought to shrink more, repeat this shrinking process from step one.
6. Now that you've made it this far, and your jeans fit, wear them as you'd wear any other pants. An important note though do not wash your jeans. Yeah it sounds weird, but the less often you choose to wash your Levi’s shrink to fit jeans, the better. It’s fairly normal to wait for months, even many months before any kind of washing. Everybody is different in the way that they treat their pants.

Remember the more frequently clean Levi’s shrink to fit jeans, the less contrast there will be in the way they are faded, and they'll wear out more quickly. Now, you'll need to wash your Levis at some point. There is a fine line between cleaning them too often, and neglecting them. Neither extreme is good!
